CENTRE, Ala. — According to reports emergency personnel with Centre Fire, Atrium Floyd EMS, Center Police, and Cherokee County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a residence late Saturday afternoon in the Big Nose Community where a Centre man in his 30s was critically burned. The man sustained critical burns to the lower part of his body and extremities after throwing paint thinner on a bonfire.
Atrium Floyd EMS personnel treated the man on the scene, he was then transported to the helipad at Atrium Floyd Cherokee Medical Center in Center where a life flight helicopter was waiting to transport the victim to Birmingham where he was later admitted into the Intensive Care Burn Unit at UAB Medical Center.
