Dump Truck Collides with Car in Leesburg

LEESBURG - A dump truck and a small passenger car collided in Leesburg around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9.


The driver of a black Nissan Altima, a female, was traveling east on Industrial Blvd., and the driver of a Kenworth dump truck was traveling west on Industrial Blvd.


The driver of the Altima attempted to turn left but turned in front of an eastbound Kenworth dump truck. After the collision, both vehicles came to rest on Industrial Blvd. in front of the Maverix convenience store.


The driver of the Altima was reportedly taken to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center by Atrium Floyd EMS for medical evaluation. The dump truck driver was uninjured.


Floyd EMS, Leesburg Police, and Leesburg Fire Department units, along with the Cherokee County Rescue Squad all responded to the scene.
