FLOYD COUNTY JAIL INAMTE DIES

Rome, GA- Friday at approximately 5 p.m. ET an inmate at the Floyd County Detention Center suffered a medical episode in the medical wing of their facility. Their medical staff and deputies that were present immediately began performing life-saving measures until the ambulance arrived. The inmate was transported to the hospital, where they was pronounced deceased.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been contacted as is their procedure in these situations. The name of the inmate is not being released pending the notification of the next of kin.
