SAND ROCK- Cherokee County Superintendent of Education Mike Welsh, along with a number of state, and town officials, Principal Ben East, educators, students, and community supporters gathered on Tuesday morning as officials broke ground on a new $14 million-dollar two-phase project at Sand Rock school.
It was a pleasure having State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey, a former student himself of Sand Rock, back in Cherokee County for the ceremony.
State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey addressed the group during the ceremony along with Senator Andrew Jones of Centre, State Representative Ginny Shaver of Leesburg, Cherokee County Superintendent of Education Mike Welsh, and Sand Rock School Principal Ben East.
