Sheriff Jeff Shaver Being Sworn In as Cherokee County Sheriff for a Fifth Term

CENTRE, Ala. - Sheriff Jeff Shaver was sworn-in on Friday for the new term of office, which began on January 13, 2023. Sheriff Shaver was first elected as Sheriff of Cherokee County in 2006 and is now serving in his fifth term.


"It is a high honor to serve as your Sheriff," a statement from the CCSO website from Sheriff Shaver.

The oath was administered by District Judge Wes Mobley. Sheriff Shaver then administered oaths to his chief deputy, Josh Summerford, and to all of his deputies.
